Carrier transport properties of liquid crystalline glass films of an aromatic polymer were studied by means of photo current measurement. It is revealed that the photo current is affected by the microscopic and macroscopic alignment of the polymer main chain ; higher photo current was obtained in homogeneously oriented liquid crystalline film compared with randomly oriented liquid crystalline and amorphous films. This result suggests the potential of the polymeric liquid crystalline glass film as the carrier transport layer for many electronic and opto-electronic devices.
