1B07 Synthesis and Mesogenic Properties of Triazine Derivatives having Tropone Ring

Abstract

New troponoid compounds with a triazine core were prepared. The triazine derivatives were not mesomorphic. The mixtures of the triazines with 3, 4, 5-alkoxybenzoic acid had, however, an enantiotropic columnar phase, while the mixtures with 2, 4, 7-trinitro-9-fluorenone had a monotropic smectic A phase.
