We proposed the in-plane switching twisted nematic (IT) mode and its excellent electrooptical characteristics. However, high electric driving voltage would be required for driving. To improve this problem, we propose the compensation method by means of the twisted nematic or twisted discotic film. In this report, the compensated IT mode is evaluated by the numerical simulation. The compensated IT mode exhibits the high contrast ratio and low electric consumption.
