1A03 The Effect of Polymer Stabilization on the Spontaneous Polarization of Ferroelectric Liquid Crystals

Abstract

In this study, a mesogenic monomer was mixed to two or more liquid crystals whose dipole moments of a carbonyl groups are the main sources of spontaneous polarization and then a polymer stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal cell was fabricated. The effect of polymer stabilization on the spontaneous polarization of ferroelectric liquid crystals have been researched by analyzing the restraint degree and direction measured using a polarized FT-IR.
