Abstract
We have study the vertical LC alignment control for realizing high-performance LC projectors using VA-LC panels, in which LC alignment control on an inorganic alignment layer, having excellent stability against light exposure, was an important target. Estimation of the polar anchoring energy is one of important parameters to characterize vertical LC alignment, but few studies on the topic have been reported. In this study, we mainly present the results of the polar anchoring energy of LCs on inorganic vertical alignment layers.
