Nematic liquid crystal microcapsule and application to optical elements (_III_)

Abstract

A nematic (N) liquid crystal microcapsule is considered to seldom be applied except optical dispersion control type tone light glass. With a last report Microcapsule-izing of liquid crystal, Paying attention to the ability to make the liquid crystal material from which character differs intermingled, the basic characteristics, such as a voltage response of N liquid crystal microcapsule (Encapsulated Nematic LC:ENLC), were reported. The possibility of the application to the scattered-about type element of ENLC (ENpLC, ENnLC) which used N liquid crystal material is reported.
