Abstract
We have studied the orientation of liquid crystalline polymer (LCP) film. In this research, the functionalized and surface alignment controlled LCP film was fabricated by over-coating fluorine-containing polymer onto the LCP film. The single LCP film has hybrid alignment and large dependence on incident light angle on retardation. In contrast, fluorine-containing polymer over-coated LCP film has lower dependence on incident light angle. It suggests that homogeneous alignment film was obtained by using fluorine-containing polymer / LCP bilayer system. We will also describe in detail concerning the property of overcoat material and the effect of annealing condition of overcoat film.
