Abstract
In this study, we studied the homogeneous-90deg TN bistable model by employing the micropatterned surface alignment. We propose an alignment method to achieve two equilibrium states by patterning a substrate surface having stripes of alternating patterns formed to be planar and mutually orthogonally to the neighboring patterned by double treatment process. As a result, bright and dark state was obtained at the initial state under 45deg crossed nicol. From this expeimental result, it is expected that the bistable state can be realized by optical fabrication.
