Abstract
Polymer-stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystals having V-shaped electrooptical characteristics (PS-V-FLCs) can be obtained by polymerizing doped monomers in the SmA phase. In this study, we research the effect of alignment film on the monostability and the molecular orientation of PS-V-FLC in term of the electrooptical characteristics and the texture observation. The degree of monostability depends on not only FLC and polymer materials and photocuring condition but also aligment film and further cell gap.
