Abstract
An optical compensation method using stretched polymer films is now widely accepted for improving the image quality of LCDs. But the quality is not satisfactory to consumers, so that a new optical compensation method such as a pattered retarder is expected to be developed. In this study, we have reported two-layers optical compensation films of C- and A-plates using coatable UV-curable LC materials and the optical compensation of crossed polarizers using the film is also reported.
