Abstract
Subwavelength-period gratings with an intrinsic birefringence medium were fabricated by means of both nanoimprinting lithography and photoalignment of photocrosslinkable polymer liquid crystal (PCLC) to investigate optic axis and form birefringence of them. In result total birefringence can be changed from 0.15 to 0.24 by controlling the director of PCLC. According to FDTD calculations the thickness of the translation layer, in which the director is rotated at the surface of the grating plate, was estimated to be around 60 nm.
