We have reported that bio-mimetic cyclic peptides (S)-1_<chiral> and (R)-1_<chiral.> form a hexagonal columnar liquid crystalline (LC) mesophase, whose columns align unidirectionally along an applied electric field over a macroscopic length scale. We newly found that mixtures of (S)-1_<chiral> and (R)-1_<chiral> likewise form a hexagonal columnar mesophase, whose diagram is intact to the molar ratio of (S)-1_<chiral> to (R)-1_<chiral>, indicating the formation of homochiral columns in the resulting LC assembly. Meanwhile, newly designed 2_<meso> self-assembled into a hexagonal columnar mesophase, whose clearing temperature is much higher than that of 1_<chiral>.
