A phase diagram of 0CB/8CB system was constructed using DSC and polarizing optical microscopy. Nematic, smectic A, and reentrant nematic phases appeared in the system, similarly to phase behavior of nCB/8CB (n = 1-6) systems, which we previously reported. The observed phase behavior of 0CB/8CB system was compared in detail with those of nCB/8CB (n = 1 - 6) systems.
