Abstract
Simple and compact birefringence measurement system has been investigated by using a LC cell as a phase shifter. However, the measurement method requires mechanical rotation devices to measure the phase distribution in all directions. In this study, birefringence measurement system without any mechanical rotation is investigated by using twisted nematic liquid crystal cell under the 1st minimum condition. However, precise control of the cell thickness is usually very difficult to attain the 1st minimum condition. Here, we examined the voltage control method for the ideal condition by adjusting Δn.
