Abstract

Poly(N-isoprorylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) is a polymer whose hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity change depending on the lower critical solution temperature (LCST).It is difficult to observe the hydrophilic-hydrophobic transition of PNIPAAm.Therefore, by using a liquid crystal cell that uses PNIPAAm, it is possible to convert it into an optical response that is easy to observe.The purpose of this study was to fabricate a cell in which PNIPAAm was spin-coated on a glass substrate and to evaluate the cell by observing the texture near LCST.
