Abstract

A SiC-PEG interface was created by using a polymer that silane-couples directly to the glass substrate. Because the glass substrate and the polymer are chemically bonded at the SiC-PEG interface, we expected to prevent image burn-in in a liquid crystal display which occured by polymer yielding effect comparing with Slippery interface created by PEG. In this report, the anchoring characteristics, threshold voltage, and response speed at the SiC-PEG interface are quantitatively compared with the conventional Slippery interface of PEG.
