Understanding the behavior of liquid crystal molecules at the interface is an important issue. However, there are few reports on the behavior of liquid crystal molecules at the liquid crystal/substrate interface due to the difficulty of selectively measuring the vicinity of the interface. We are trying to clarify the formation process of the liquid crystal phase by in-situ viscoelastic measurements of liquid crystal molecules during vacuum deposition using the quartz crystal microbalance. In this study, we report the temperature dependence of viscoelasticity change during the formation of liquid crystal thin films.
