Abstract

A hexa-substituted pentadecyloxyazobenzene-triphenylene linked with propylene ether (1-C15-3) was synthesized and its mesomorphic phase transitions were studied. POM, DSC and synchrotron radiation XRD measurements revealed that this compound exhibits three mesophases and SmA phase and Colr mesophases were detected by XRD.
