Abstract

Summary: Although the liquid crystal(LC) phase shifter is attractive for millimeter wave application, operation speed of the LC phase shifter is extremely slow due to the very long recovery time. In the previous work, we investigated operating characteristics of LC phase shifter under bias magnetic field to improve the recovery speed. However, we could not evaluate accurate effect of magnetic field due to the limitation of measurement speed of Vector Network Analyzer. In this study, we construct fast measurement system by using Gunn diode and diode detector to evaluate the accurate response characteristics.
