Abstract

In recent years, liquid crystal elastomers have been attracting attention because of their characteristics to respond to various stimuli such as temperature response, photoresponse, and mechanical response. In particular, in terms of mechanical response, it has been confirmed that the color of the elastomer changes in response to strain when it is stretched, and this is thought to be caused by a change in the thickness and pitch length of the material due to the stress generated inside the material during stretching. In this study, the SPH method, which is a mesh-free method, is used to analyze the behavior of elastomers when their shapes change dynamically.
