Supramolecular formation of core-chiral metal complexes

Abstract

We here report the supramolecular formation of racemic octahedral metal complexes. The used compounds have D and L chirality in the metal center. Therefore, they can stack in several ways such as DDDD and DLDL order. We discuss the plausible stacking structure in the columnar phase. Further, the pseudo racemic assembly was formed by mixing enantiopure Ru and Ir complexes. The possible stacking structure in the resultant cubic phase will be also discussed.
