Dynamic response of liquid crystals applied with sine-wave voltage

Abstract

In recent years, LC-based swept lasers and beam steering devices have been reported. These devices are consecutively operated in application systems such as optical coherence tomography and LiDAR, and thus it is important to examine dynamic response for applying a sine-wave voltage, rather than step response for applying a pulse voltage to the LC devices. In this study, we investigate dynamic responses of a pure LC material (5CB) and a swelling LC gel as examples.
