The simulation of Current Flowing in Nematic Liquid Crystal Cell in Response to Triangle Wave Voltages

Abstract

The ionic transport equations in a nematic liquid crystal cell are numerically solved by computer under the condition of the application of triangle wave voltages. It has been investigated how the adsorption and releasing processes of ions on the surface of alignrnent layer and the frequency of applied triangle wave voltage affect the current wave form and the occurrence of reverse hysteresis effect in the capacitance and voltage relation.
