The temperature dependence of 13C-NMR spectrum and layer thickness have been investigated on antiferroelectric liquid crystal with tetralin unit. There is no remarkable difference between MHPOBC and tetralin derivative. In addition, we have observed the absorbance vs polarizer angle for the carbonyl and phenyl stretching peak with changing incident angle in order to estimate the direction of carbonyl group.
