An experimental study has been made of the localizer antenna aiming for CAT II ILS.
This paper presents both data obtained by measurements made on the ground and during flights of the two localizer antenna types.
The measurements were mainly carried out about radiation patterns, DDM and usable distance, etc..
One of these antennas is a corner-reflector antenna having 11 dipole elements which was installed at Niigata airport, and the other was a V-Ring antenna which was installed at Matsumoto airport.
Some suggestions are given for further inprovements of these antennas.
