Abstract
We have proposed the concept of “Dependable Air”, which is a heterogeneous and highly reliable wireless network. Dependable Air can function even in the event of a major disaster. To expand the capacity of Dependable Air, small cell networks such as millimeter-wave bands are necessary. However, since small cell networks have a coverage of only several meters, their resources are used by only a small part of the traffic. In this paper, traffic navigation using map information is explained for the efficient use of small cell networks. By using the scheme, each user terminal schedules the timing of data packet transmission on the basis of the expected user’s route. System-wide load balancing is realized by using traffic navigation.
