Ramie and linen fabrics were treated with a commercial pectinase under various conditions. The effects of temperature, enzyme concentration, and treating time on degradation rate of pectic substances in the fabrics were evaluated. Equation to calculate their degradation rate was established as a function of enzyme concentration and treating time based on the obtained results.
