Dynamic viscoelastic properties of poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) multi-filaments which were prepared by continuous drawing and annealing were analyzed. And apparent activation energies (ΔE ) were calculated from the tan δ. With orientation induced crystallization, the peak of tan δ decreased, and the peak temperature of tan δ increased remarkably. Relaxation mechanism of α dispersion was discussed from the results. We considered that the molecular relaxation was prevented as molecular chains entangled in amorphous samples, on the other hand, it prevented as orientation induced crystal in crystallized samples.
