Three kinds of pulp woods, “Ezomatsu” (Picea jezoensis), “Toshirabe” (Abies nephrolepis) and “Chosenmomi” (Abies holophylla) are taken, and the analysis is carried out as already reported in this journal. Table 1. The proximate compositions. Table 2. The three woods show the close resemblance to one another in the chemical compositions, and lignin is easily removed by the chlorination at the cellulose determination, which differs in the case of Tsuga and Momi (This Journal, 1927, 3, 35).
