Application on Coating Systems with Stainless Steel Flakes

Abstract

Stainless steel itself is excellent in corrosion resistance and durability. However, when blending it with paints, suitable flake size as metallic pigment was not obtained easily and even if once obtained, flakes were not very good with resin in paints. By improving them, the paint containing stainless flakes become the product which is excellent in corrosion resistance and durability compared with the conventional paints. In this paper, comparing with the aluminium flake paint currently used, we would like to report stainless flake paints newly developed, while the metallic color tone with peculiar weight and its performance having outstanding film properties and durability.
