Abstract
We developed a reuse method of ceramic tile using an acid. In this method, the salt is generated by the reaction of an acid and mortar and adheres to the surface of tile. It is necessary to remove this salt because it is adhesion inhibitor between tile and elastic adhesive. So we conducted the experiment that the salt was washed tile by 3 ways and the residues were estimated to remove it more certainly. 3 ways were touching tile to running water, scrubbing the surface of tile, and immersing tile in water. It was found out that the way of immersing tile in water was the most effective way to remove it. Then, we conducted the experiment that 4 tiles that had different water absorption coefficient were immersed in water to check dissolution rate of salt. It was found out that the more the water absorption coefficient, the more the dissolution rate of salt. Therefore, it is necessary to decide the time of immersion in water in consideration of water absorption coefficient of a reuse tile.
