Abstract

A subject to be solved of water-based paint is that the paint needs long time for its initial drying and hardening and the coating performance expression would be deficient in low air temperature and high humidity. In this paper, coating performance of a trial paint product that has been changed a constituent resin for the paint is experimentally compared with an existing paint. Conclusion of the paper is as below. It is confirmed that the trial produced paint is able to solve the above subject. And it is judged that the trial paint is able to reduce an influence of construction weather conditions even if low air temperature and high humidity. The evaluation under limited conditions has been carried out in this experiment. Accordingly, it is important that characteristics and precautions for use of the water-based paint have to be recognized after understanding of experimental results in this paper and stable coating quality has to be assured in real construction.
