The VOC and SVOC emission of vinyl floor coverings were evaluated by using both of micro chamber and small chamber method. Emission rates were determined by GC-MS and HPLC. Emission of VOC chemicals, such as, Toluene, Ethlybenzene were decreased under ventilation atmosphere. SVOC emission of phthalates, DEHP and DINP, were, however, increased. Emission of 2-Ethyl hexanol was also increased. We concluded that 2-Ethyl hexanol is supplied by hydrolysis of DEHP. SVOC emission is increased by migration of plasticizer from inside to surface of vinyl floorcovering.
