For the metal exterior used many with the buildings, it is desirable for the painting repair specifications to have stain-proof performance other than the durability. With the main purpose of evaluating stain-proof performance, an accelerated weathering test and an outdoor exposure test were carried out on the coating repair specifications of the metal exterior. The painting repair specifications were chosen from photocatalyst products or low pollution products which develop a hydrophillcity by compound adition. The following were obteined from the test results. 1) The gloss retention rate will be similar in the accelerated weather resistance test and the outdoor exposure test. 2) Color difference and lightness difference are different between the accelerated weathering test and the outdoor exposure test, especially for low-contamination products. 3) In an outdoor exposure test, photocatalyst products show a decrease in gloss retention and an increase in brightness. This is more noticeable on the convex surface than on the concave surface of the wall. 4) In the outdoor exposure test, low pollution products turn dark after the start of the test.
