Part7 Survey and Evaluation Method for Lath and Plaster Ceilings with Trapezoid Cross Sections

Abstract

This paper deals with the lath and plaster ceiling with the trapezoidal cross-sectional wooden laths. We have studied the ceiling specifications at the time of its construction and compared them with documents from the same period. As a result, we found that the ceiling under investigation and the literature were similar in specifications. However, the ceilings under investigation were pioneering specifications, with special attention given to plaster fall. For example, the positioning of the lath joints, the dimensions of the gap between the laths, and the taper angle of the lath cross section.
