Abstract

On considering the safety of the small fishing vessels in the rough sea, it is important to estimate accurately the structure of the dynamic rolling response of the small fishing vessls, since the seakeeping qualities are generally worse than those of big ships and strong nonlinear responses frequently exhibit on the rolling motions. There are difficulties to forecast appropriately the rolling motion by using the differential equation, which is based on the physical model, because of large changing the ship condition during the fishing operation. From this point of view, the authors took notice of a methodology for applying a Neural Network model carried out. As the result, the effectiveness was suggested on the forecasting by the Neural Network model to the structure of the rolling response of small fishing vessels.
