Abstract
By using the color image, the monochrome one is obtained as a luminance component of it. This transformation is not invertible, that is, the color image cannot be restored by using only the transformed monochrome one. In recent years, the method realizing the invertible monochrome transformation of color image has been studied. In this report, a new method to transform a color image into a monochrome one is proposed. In the proposed method, the color information is embedded in the monochrome image, and the color one can be restored by using the embedded color information. Through the experiments using some digital color images, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.
