Abstract
A haiku gathering method (that is a way how to make haiku poems and consists of five steps, i.e., ORIGINATE, FAIR COPY, SELECT, PRESENT, and REVIEW) in traditional Japanese culture is introduced in terms of Kansei engineering for supporting idea creation technique mainly in business/management affairs or new product development, and it is implemented in a computer network systems. The idea creation support system based on haiku gathering method has never studied before, and it aims to reflect various ideas from beginners to experts into the final output idea, that is not easy by traditional idea creation method such as KJ method. In an application experiment of the system on the theme "what we should do to promote the oversea tourists visiting Tokyo in double size?" by 13 subjects from beginners to experts from a viewpoint of the knowledge about Tokyo, 50 ideas are collected in ORIGINATE stage, five are extracted in PRESENT stage, and proposals from beginners to experts are unified by using comments in final REVIEW stage. By investigating the sensitivity distance evaluation and each user's work information, the applicability of the proposed idea creation support system based on haiku gathering method is also confirmed toward the realization of the management creativity for the companies.
