Abstract
Currently, papers have reported measurement systems for joint motion in diagnosing. Although measurement systems with optical device such as camera is used widely, it has disadvantage that the precision decreases in case of presence of obstacle between a marker and a camera. Therefore, it is not applied to a clinical scene that hands and arms of an examiner interfere the vision of the camera. When medical doctors performe manual test to diagnose an injured joint, the hands of the doctors easily hide the makers. This study proposes an analysis method of knee motion by extracting only the region of the femur and tibia from images taken by an optical device. Then it can be used as measurement system for the manual test.
