Development of an Assistive Drawing System for Blind People by Using a Refreshable Braille Display and Its Usability Evaluation

Abstract

For blind people, it is not so difficult to receive and send verbal information. However, for visual information such as diagrams and graphs, the blind are able to receive visual information as tactile graphics, but they are not able to send it without any help of sighted people. So, we are studying an assistive drawing system for blind people, and then in this paper, we describe our system in detail and show the results of the usability evaluation which has been conducted by several blind participants.
