Abstract
Walking in a city, people look at streetscapes and many objects along them. They are everyday sights for the residents of the city, whereas seeing them is a brand-new experience for the visitors. The visitors sometime discover valuable attractions that the residents are not aware of, consequently. An experiment in which residents and visitors walked in a city and took pictures of interesting objects was carried out. After the walking, they wrote why they had felt interesting for every picture. The statistical analysis of these writings reveals the differences of cognition between the residents and visitors.
