Abstract

Speeches of the U.S. president’s often receive attention from all over the world. The president tries to realize his policy and gain the people’s understanding through his speeches. When the country is in crisis, the president also has the role of encouraging and inspiring the people. On the contrary, no matter how good the president’s policy or vision is, it does not reach the people’s mind if his speech is poor. In this study, the 45th U.S. president, Donald Trump’s speeches are analyzed to educe the metrical linguistic characteristics. In short, frequency characteristics of character- and word- appearance for his several speeches are examined.
