Lady’s Watch Design System with Selective Evaluation Method

Abstract

We propose a lady’s watch design system with interactive evolutionary computation (IEC) method applying selective evaluation of candidate solutions. Our previous work demonstrated the effectiveness of using paired comparison evaluation in IEC system and reduced users evaluation loads. However, the previous system forces a user to choose favorite design even if the user does not like the presented designs. Therefore, we add a function which a user can judge whether “both likes and dislikes” to the previous system. We conducted an evaluation experiment for measuring satisfaction levels of generated watch designs and time spent for design evaluation. The experimental results show that the proposed system can generate designs that a user can satisfy and be easy to evaluate candidate solutions than the previous system.
