Abstract

A decision making problem often has a variety of criteria, such as qualitative and quantitative. The conventional methods assume that all criteria are denoted in the same manner. The criteria that are not suitable for the method may be excluded or require conversions. Moreover, a decision maker has her ideal or negative ideal on some criteria, and on the other criteria, she has nothing in her mind. Such a decision maker’s thinking is worth to be considered to support her decision making. This study takes a diversity of criteria into consideration and proposes a decision making process reflecting a decision maker’s thinking. We categorize decision criteria, whether they are quantitative or qualitative, and whether the decision maker has positive and negative ideal examples in her mind.
