Abstract

This paper investigates the effects of combining intonation changes in particles and sentence endings with consideration for others in politeness theory on the impression of and acceptance of assistance from a driving feedback robot. The experimental results indicated that for the animacy item, the condition of NPS with normal speech tended to have lower values than those of PPS with elevated speech and NPS with elevated speech. However, there was no effect on the acceptance of assistance.
