Abstract

This paper focuses on messages with past tense expressions on SNSs during a disaster. Messages by third parties or messages posted by disaster victims after they were rescued often contain past tense expressions. On the other hand, when victims seeking rescue post messages on SNS, they do not tend to post messages about the past. We verify this assumption using messages posted on SNS during the Noto Peninsula earthquake in January 2024. In addition, we examine how to deal with the presence of past tense words to determine the distrust level of the two-dimensional trust value.
