Introduction to data processing using spherical SOM tool with simultaneous front and back display

Abstract

The Spherical SOM is improved topologically compared to planar SOM. Furthermore, by displaying both the front and back sides simultaneously, the drawback of only being able to see one side has been improved. This was applied to general animal data. Next, it was applied to check the accuracy of three benchmark data: iris, wine, and breast cancer. Third, although this problem is suitable for spherical SOM, it can be applied to TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem), and displayed the traveling around cities on earth in the shortest distance.
