Analyses of distribution and characteristics of the Someiyoshino cherry trees in the west part of Tottori Prefecture using the spherical SOM method

Abstract

Growth of the Someiyoshino cherry trees has peaked from 40 to 60 years after planting and the trees tend to decline rapidly later and curing such as fertilization at this peak has a remarkable delayed effect of decline of the trees. It is the most important task to grasp the health condition of the trees. We collected the data of cherry trees and old trees of cherry blossoms in parks, schools, riverbanks, etc. in the west part of Tottori Prefecture. Since the survey data showed that damage from dead branches has been commonly observed, this report focuses on examining this damage by using the spherical SOM and Significance method. .
