Takezaki volcano was named by author in 1963 (Matsumoto and Yamasaki, 1963; Matsumoto, 1966). This volcano is an insular volcano with one of imperfect crater in Pleistocene time, consisting of a stratovolcano and many dykes. The stratovolcano is composed of numerous alternate layers of lavas and pyroclastic rocks of augite-olivine basalt, the same rock of many dykes as augite-olivine basalt. These basalts are derived from alkali olivine basalt magma.
