Abstract
Since almost cases of colonic cancer are highly differentiated or moderately differetiated adenocarcinoma, mucinous carcinoma are reratively rare. As the progress of mucinous carcinoma is usually rapid, early detected cases of them are quite few.
We have experienced early mucinous carcinoma (limited to mucosal layer) in sigmoid colon detected by endoscopic examination. The focus of this lesion was glitterig in whight color endoscopically. We considered that the color change will be a endoscopical feature of mucinous carcinoma as contracted with pathohistological findings.
Literately, reported cases of colonic early mucinous carcinoma are only 7 cases, and all of them are sm invated depth. This case is considered the first of mucinous carcinoma limited to mucosal layer.
